Job Overview
We are seeking a an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and proficiency with industry-standard software tools. As a key player in our team, you will coordinate multiple teams, manage subcontractors, update and manage schedule, and ensure safety and compliance at all times. Your expertise will drive project success while maintaining client satisfaction and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee daily construction site activities, supervising field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain productivity and safety protocols.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar construction management software to monitor progress and adjust plans proactively.
- Review drawings, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.
- Manage project budgets by tracking change costs, preparing estimates with Construction team and controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and enforce safety standards across all job sites through regular inspections and safety meetings.
- Coordinate procurement activities, including material ordering via Construction management software platforms such as ProCore.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify workmanship meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Read and interpret technical documents such as schematics and blueprints; utilize tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on project status, risks, and issues; communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation of contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and other project records.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction management with a minimum of several years supervising medium to large projects.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple teams on construction sites while maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong background in project scheduling; familiarity with construction site logistics is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of contracts administration, budgeting, and cost control methods within the construction industry.
- Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings; familiarity with construction estimating processes using HeavyBid or equivalent software.
- Well-versed in OSHA safety regulations; committed to fostering a safe work environment through proactive supervision.
- Skilled in using construction management software such as ProCore or Bluebeam for document control and communication purposes.
- Excellent management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while supervising subcontractors and vendors. Pay: $69,353.78 - $120,522.84 per year
