Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Handle food production tasks including food handling, portioning, and plating to ensure consistency and quality
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals for dietary restrictions or health requirements
- Maintain an organized workstation, ensuring all tools and ingredients are properly stored and sanitized after use
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dietary aide or in food service roles within cafes, restaurants, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal assembly
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume settings
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to uphold health standards
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in recipe adherence to ensure consistent quality
- Experience with menu planning, catering, or fine dining environments is a plus
