The HandyMan Assistant Manager supports the HandyMan Manager in delivering high-quality projects, strong client communication, and efficient field operations.
This role is responsible for ensuring that projects move smoothly from scheduling through completion by coordinating materials, permits, paperwork, and communication with field technicians, subcontractors, and clients.
The Assistant Manager acts as a second-in-command to the HandyMan Manager, proactively identifying tasks that need attention, following through on operational details, and ensuring that systems and processes are followed so that projects stay organized and profitable.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working both in the office and in the field.
Core Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Order materials and coordinate deliveries
- Schedule dumpsters and other jobsite needs
- Track and coordinate permit applications and inspections
- Review project instructions and task lists before work begins
- Ensure all necessary documentation is complete before technicians arrive on site
- Maintain a budget for each project as well as profit margins.
Field Support
- Visit job sites to ensure technicians have the information and materials needed
- Serve as a communication bridge between the office and field team
- Assist technicians in resolving logistical challenges
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules as needed
Client Communication
- Provide updates to clients regarding project progress
- Respond to client questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure expectations are clear and documented
Systems and Process Support
- Support the company’s operational systems (including BuilderTrend or similar project management software)
- Maintain organized project documentation
- Track job progress, material usage, budget and project notes
- Help ensure tasks and deadlines are being met
Operational Follow-Through
- Identify tasks that need attention and address them proactively
- Take initiative to resolve issues before they become problems
- Assist the HandyMan Manager in managing workflow for the team
- Ensure that important details do not fall through the cracks
Pay: From $51,491.90 per year
