Description: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance of campus buildings including, but not limited to, painting, light carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical needs as it relates to building surfaces throughout the campus and all King University properties.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: A high school degree is required. • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance and/or building trades • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills. • Leadership Skills: No additional skills listed. • Computer Skills: Limited knowledge of Microsoft Office • Level of Independence: High level of ability to work independently and be able to properly prioritize the work to be done. • Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to working on weekends as required (although this is the exception) and/or responding to emergency on-call situations on a cyclical basis. • Physical Exertion Requirements: Heavy work as defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. • Driving History: Must qualify to drive a University owned vehicle. • Procedures Commitment: The candidate must adhere to any and all King University policies as detailed for all employees in the Employee Handbook or specifically per any department, such as Admissions, Business Office, Financial Aid, etc. • Christian Commitment: The candidate must have and be able to articulate a personal faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and support the mission of King College.
Responsibilities: Ensure the safety of campus personnel by providing and role-modeling proper use of safety rules and regulations. This includes but is not limited to safety glasses, earplugs, work gloves, etc. • Manage the ongoing work orders assigned • Plan materials and tools requirements, scheduling, and detailed completion of all projects • Complete reports for each job assignment, detailing time and materials used for each completed task • Purchase materials and tools as required for fulfillment of duties per King University Purchasing Procedures • Maintain inventory of supplies, parts, and tools • Initiates requests for repairs as discovered • Assist all other personnel as needed for grounds care, snow removal, plumbing, electrical, mechanical maintenance, and housekeeping
