Applications are being accepted for the position of Maintenance Technician/Plumber. The standard hours will be M-F 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with a shift adjustment to 9:00-5 every 8th week
Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician/Plumber performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance duties involving the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of EVIT buildings, grounds, equipment, and plumbing systems. The position supports the safe, efficient, and code-compliant operation fdeleteor EVIT facilities by performing general building maintenance and serving as the primary resource for plumbing-related repairs and maintenance throughout EVIT campuses.
The employee's primary assignment is Maintenance Worker. A stipend is provided for serving as EVIT's designated plumbing resource and performing plumbing duties as assigned by the Facilities.
Job Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Salary: $24.89 - 31.00 / Hour. Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry related experience, teaching experience, and certification. There is an additional $3000.00 stipend for plumbing responsibilities, which is spread evenly over the year.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.

Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, plumbing, construction, or a related field.

Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:

Journeyman plumber license.

Backflow prevention certification.
-
Specialized training or experience in plumbing, HVAC/R systems, mechanical systems, or electrical maintenance.

Forklift certification.

Refrigerant recovery certification.

Experience working in a public school or government setting. Completion of vocational or technical training in plumbing.
