Class A or Class B CDL Driver / Snow Operations Driver (Full-Time)
About the Role
Alpine Earthworks is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Class A or Class B CDL Driver to join our team in a year-round, full-time position. During the construction season, this role is responsible for safely transporting materials, operating company trucks, and supporting earthwork operations. During the winter season, this position transitions into snow management operations, including on-call snowplowing and storm response activities.
The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service throughout all seasons.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspections
- Perform thorough pre-trip inspections before every shift.
- Complete and submit all required inspection reports before leaving the shop.
- Report vehicle defects, damage, maintenance concerns, or safety issues immediately.
Safe and Efficient Driving
- Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from jobsites.
- Maintain awareness of road, weather, and jobsite conditions to ensure safe operations.
Equipment Care and Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of assigned trucks and equipment.
- Clean vehicles at the end of each workday when time permits.
- Monitor vehicle condition and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
Documentation and Reporting
- Accurately record load counts, tonnage, lap times, hours worked, and other required operational data.
- Complete and submit driver logs, pit tickets, delivery records, and job information at the end of each shift.
- Ensure all daily reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
Winter Operations & Snow Removal
- Participate in on-call snow management operations throughout the winter season.
- Operate snowplows, loaders, skid steers, and other snow removal equipment as assigned.
- Respond to snow events during nights, weekends, holidays, and early morning hours as needed.
- Perform snowplowing, snow hauling, and site cleanup services.
- Complete pre-storm equipment inspections and post-storm maintenance checks.
- Maintain communication with supervisors regarding storm conditions, route completion, and equipment issues.
- Work extended hours during snow events when necessary to meet customer commitments.
Team Support
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Operations Director or company ownership.
- Support Alpine Earthworks operations by contributing to team success and maintaining a positive work environment.

Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Experience operating dump trucks, tandem trucks, or other commercial vehicles preferred.
- Snowplowing or snow removal experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in changing weather and field conditions.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, ice, and wind.
- Ability to work extended shifts during peak construction and snow removal seasons.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs during winter storm events.
- Ability to safely enter and exit large trucks and equipment multiple times throughout the day.
- Good hand-eye coordination and situational awareness.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and walking on uneven terrain.
