American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with 3+ years of L&D experience and a BSN for a 13-week Days assignment in an acute care hospital setting.

Work in the Labor and Delivery unit on Floor 2 of an acute care hospital, part of a combined LDRP/Mother Baby setting
-
Unit includes 16 L&D beds, 13 Antepartum beds, 8 Triage beds, 3 OR suites for C-Sections, and a separate 32-bed Mother Baby Care unit on another floor

High-volume unit averaging 320-400 deliveries per month and over 4,000 annually
-
Follows AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
-
Common patient diagnoses include preeclampsia, previa, twins, and diabetics
-
RNs must be able to circulate the OR and manage LDR patients
-
RNs are required to titrate Pitocin (1-20 ml/units, up to 40 ml/units) and Insulin drips
-
Charge Nurse is present on every shift and does not take a patient assignment unless absolutely necessary
-
CSTs are staffed every shift; OB Laborist and Neonatologist in-house 24/7, along with a dedicated CRNA for anesthesia coverage
-
RNs perform NRP initial resuscitation only, until NICU arrives
-
No dedicated Tele/Monitor Techs on unit; Tele Techs from elsewhere read cardiac strips when needed
-
EFM system used is Centricity Perinatal (GE)
-
EMR used is EPIC
-
Shifts are 12 hours, scheduled 7a-7p or 7p-7a, with weekend coverage as needed
-
No call or standby requirements
-
Floating required to Meridian and Nampa hospital locations (within 20 minutes) and to the 13-bed high-risk Antepartum unit

Scrubs are provided by the facility
-
Unit-specific orientation includes 1 shift each in L&D, Antepartum, and L&D OR
-
Active RN license (ID state or Compact) required, must be active at time of consideration
-
BSN required
-
Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE
-
EPIC EMR experience preferred
-
Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Valid driver's license required for consideration

Provide direct patient care for laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients, including circulating in the OR for C-Sections

Perform drip titration for Pitocin and Insulin as part of daily patient management
-
Work alongside a collaborative care team including in-house OB Laborists, Neonatologists, and dedicated CRNA anesthesia coverage 24/7
-
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position

Holiday scheduling for travelers is minimized but may occasionally be required
-
No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests are accommodated

Former permanent employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before applying for this travel assignment
