American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an acute care hospital in Santa Rosa, CA, requiring Trauma Level I experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including neuro, vascular, and ortho.

Acute care hospital OR setting with 277 staffed beds
-
Surgical specialties include trauma, neuro, vascular, orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics, ENT, thoracic, bariatrics, podiatry, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)

Epic EMR required

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts with variable start times of 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM

May be required to cover occasional night shifts as needed during the contract
-
On-call is required and distributed equally among all nursing staff approximately every 6 weeks, potentially up to 6–8 shifts per 6-week cycle (including nights, evenings, and weekends)

Weekend work is required

Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities

Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 3 years of OR experience required (5 years preferred)

Trauma Level I experience required
-
Experience in neuro, vascular, and orthopedic OR cases required

Epic EMR experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
-
SSN and DOB required for consideration
-
Scrub skills required across a broad range of surgical specialties and procedures including craniotomies, spinal fusions, vascular repairs, total joint replacements, robotic cases, and trauma (GSW, MVA, amputations)

Proficiency with OR equipment including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and cell saver
-
Knowledge of infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol (time-out) procedures

Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day

Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per diem) must disclose the location and dates of employment
-
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
-
Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but subject to a lower bill rate
