Safety Products Inc (SPI) is seeking an experienced Delivery Driver to join our growing company. SPI is the largest, independently owned, occupational safety distributor in the Southeast United States. Our product sales are focused on personal protective equipment (PPE), first aid and traffic safety products. We sell to general industry, manufacturing, government agencies and the construction market. We have three distribution centers located in Lakeland, Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Memphis, Tennessee. Our Lakeland, Florida office will be the location for this position.

Job Description
Our Delivery Driver's primary purpose is to load, transport, and deliver products to our customers. This should be done in a safe, timely manner and with a positive customer experience in mind. Our drivers are reliable, prompt, polite, and adhere to assigned routes and time schedules. Our drivers are also responsible for pulling orders. This includes deliveries for the following day, standard UPS, and Truckline shipments. Drivers pay close attention to the needs of their trucks. This includes a basic daily inspection, routine washing, and reporting any noticeable mechanical problems to the Warehouse Manager. A detailed list of specific duties and responsibilities, as it pertains to Safety Products Inc, will be provided to qualified candidates during the hiring process.
Hours: Full-time | Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Payscale: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience

Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
● Must be able to drive a 24 Ft box truck (CDL not required)
● Prior delivery driving experience
● Familiarity with GPS and navigation
● Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift training program within the first 60 days of employment preferred
● Ability to lift and move heavy objects
● Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
● Organizational skills
● Attention to detail
● Strong customer service and communication skills
● Ability to work independently
● Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
