Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team! Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Lead and motivate the retail sales team by providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to maximize performance.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, inventory control, purchasing, and shrink reduction strategies.
- Support merchandising efforts by implementing visual displays, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to boost sales.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints promptly, and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere.
- Coordinate shift schedules, supervise cashiering activities, and ensure efficient POS (Point of Sale) system operations.
- Assist with recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees to foster a strong team culture.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within the retail industry, with a focus on sales team supervision and operational oversight.
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, and recruiting to build high-performing teams.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts such as pricing strategies, sales tracking, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership in store management roles with a focus on training & development and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication skills combined with organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledge of POS systems, cashiering procedures, merchandising standards, and store safety protocols.
- Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities accurately while maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is highly desirable.
