The Operations Supervisor is a frontline leadership role responsible for translating UNIS’s technology-enabled logistics strategy into consistent, safe, and reliable warehouse execution at the Roanoke, TX facility. This position owns the performance of a designated shift or functional area across receiving, inventory, picking, packing, and shipping operations, ensuring that customer service commitments, throughput targets, and quality standards are achieved on a daily basis. As a critical connector between associates on the floor, cross-functional partners (such as transportation, inventory control, and customer service), and site/operations management, the Operations Supervisor ensures that people, processes, and systems are aligned. The role balances hands-on leadership with data-driven decision making, leveraging WMS, performance metrics, and AI-enabled tools to optimize labor utilization, resolve constraints in real time, and drive continuous improvement. Success in this role is evidenced by a safe, compliant, and highly engaged workforce, stable and predictable operations, and measurable contributions to cost-efficiency, service reliability, and customer satisfaction.

1. Lead, organize, and oversee daily warehouse operations (including receiving, put-away, inventory management, picking, packing, staging, and shipping) to ensure on-time, accurate, and safe execution of all customer orders and service-level commitments.

2. Monitor and analyze key operational metrics (such as productivity, throughput, order accuracy, labor utilization, and safety indicators) using WMS and reporting tools; make real-time adjustments to labor allocation, workflow sequencing, and resource deployment to maintain performance targets.

Directly supervise, coach, and develop warehouse associates, including assigning work, providing on-the-floor guidance, conducting performance and attendance discussions, reinforcing safety and quality standards, and taking timely corrective actions to build an accountable and high-performing team.

4. Conduct pre- and post-shift meetings to communicate daily priorities, process changes, safety topics, and performance expectations; ensure information flows effectively between associates, peer supervisors, and management, and that issues impacting service or safety are escalated and resolved promptly.

Enforce compliance with company policies, customer-specific requirements, regulatory and safety standards (including proper use of yard and warehouse equipment), and standard operating procedures; identify process gaps and partner with site leadership, support functions, and technology teams to implement improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen overall operational reliability.

High School Diploma or GED, demonstrating foundational literacy, numeracy, and the ability to comprehend operational procedures, safety documentation, and performance reports.

At least 3 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments.

Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic productivity or performance reporting tools.

Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-volume operations (e.g., DC, 3PL, cross-dock, or fulfillment center).

Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including variable shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended hours during peak periods, as required by business and customer demand.

1. Prior experience as a Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor or equivalent role in a cross-dock, 3PL, or technology-enabled logistics environment, with responsibility for multiple functional areas or complex workflows.

2. Demonstrated exposure to cross-dock operations, including direct knowledge of rapid inbound-to-outbound flows, tight cut-off times, and coordination with transportation teams to meet network and customer commitments.

3. Experience leading teams within organizations that utilize advanced logistics technology, AI-enabled tools, or automated decision-support systems, and a comfort level interpreting data dashboards and operational analytics.

4. Formal training or certifications in safety, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain (for example, OSHA-related training, lift truck certifications, or relevant technical certifications).

5. Experience contributing to or leading continuous improvement initiatives (such as standardizing work, reducing waste, improving layout, or enhancing productivity) with measurable impact on cost, service, or quality.
