Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in administering medications, providing personalized care, and supporting residents’ health and well-being in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following state regulations and facility protocols
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, medication effects, and overall health status
- Assist with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, and feeding as needed
- Maintain precise medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
- Support residents with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, and hospice support
- Collaborate with nursing staff to report changes in condition or concerns promptly
- Perform manual handling tasks safely during patient transfers or repositioning while adhering to heavy lifting safety standards
- Conduct routine assessments of patients’ physiology and anatomy knowledge to support comprehensive care plans
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, tube feeding, and vital signs monitoring
Skills
- Proven experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and medical documentation practices
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate recordkeeping
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS), CPR, first aid, and other emergency response procedures confidently
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia care
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws to ensure compliance in all activities
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Understanding of medical physiology and anatomy relevant to patient assessment and treatment support
- Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams
