We are looking for a full-time Load Builder to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in assembling accurate and efficient loads of lumber and building materials for our customers. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively with yard staff to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.
- This position is located onsite and is not a remote or hybrid position.
Responsibilities/ Job Description
Read and interpret picking tickets and order details to accurately and efficiently pull materials needed to fulfill customer orders.
Assemble safe, stable, and accurate loads of lumber and building materials for customer delivery or pickup.
Select and verify materials to help ensure product quality, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Protect materials from damage by using proper strapping, protective materials, and safe handling practices.
Use knowledge of yard inventory and product placement to locate, move, and assemble materials efficiently.
Safely operate forklifts and other equipment needed to move materials and complete orders.
Maintain an organized work area to support safe and efficient material handling.
Communicate with team members regarding order status, material issues, and workflow needs.
Follow company safety standards and safe material-handling practices.
Perform additional duties and assignments as needed to support yard operations and customer order fulfillment.
Required Qualifications / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable work experience.
Previous experience in a lumber yard.
Forklift operation experience.
Ability to satisfactorily pass forklift driving training and maintain safe forklift handling practices.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Team-oriented approach with a willingness to support operational needs and help ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Basic ability to operate various hand tools.
Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience building loads of lumber and building materials in a yard, warehouse, or distribution environment.

Familiarity with reading, picking tickets and customer orders.

Knowledge of safe material handling and load securement practices.
