Job Summary
The Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) is responsible for administering prescribed medications and treatments to residents in an assisted living facility in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and Missouri state regulations. The L1MA also assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and monitors resident health status to ensure safety, comfort, and quality of life.
- Administer medications as ordered by a physician and permitted under Missouri Level 1 Medication Aide scope of practice.
- Verify resident identity prior to medication administration.
- Document medication administration accurately on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Observe residents for side effects, adverse reactions, or medication effectiveness and report concerns to nursing staff.
- Maintain proper storage, labeling, and security of medications, including controlled substances.
- Assist residents with self-administration of medications when appropriate.
- Perform blood glucose monitoring and administer insulin if trained and authorized
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including:
- Bathing
- Grooming
- Dressing
- Toileting
- Eating
- Mobility and transfers
- Assist residents during meals and encourage adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Respond to call lights and resident needs promptly.
- Provide emotional support and maintain resident dignity and privacy.
- Assist with housekeeping tasks related to resident care.
- Maintain infection control and safety standards.
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team communication.
- Assist with activities and social engagement for residents.
- Follow facility policies, state regulations, and resident rights guidelines.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
