American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of current cath lab experience for a 13-week acute care assignment in Bakersfield, CA.

Acute care hospital cardiac cath lab setting with 5 suites: 2 primarily for coronary cases, 1 for peripheral cases, 1 for vascular and neuro cases, and 1 dedicated EP suite

STEMI-receiving facility performing cardiac/coronary, vascular, peripheral, general IR, and neuro intervention procedures

Cases are performed with 2 techs — one scrubs and one monitors hemodynamics; an RN manages conscious sedation, and a 4th person (RN or tech) may assist depending on the case

Average daily caseload ranges from 10–22 cases across all suites

Charting system: Cerner
-
12-hour day shifts, every other weekend (EOW)

Weeknight call rotation: approximately 1x per week for inpatient and emergent cases

Weekend call rotation: approximately 1 weekend per month, running from Friday evening through Monday morning (subject to change based on unit needs)

First to float per facility policy

Minimum of 2 years of current cath lab experience required

Active ARRT certification required — RCIS and CCT will not be accepted

Active BLS and Fluoroscopy certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted

State or Compact (NLC) license required if applicable; must be active — pending licenses will not be accepted

Proficiency in cardiac/coronary, vascular, peripheral, general IR, and neuro intervention procedures

Must be comfortable with conscious and moderate sedation, procedural processes, and airway management
-
Experience with cardiac drips (e.g., Integrilin, dopamine, vasopressors) and balloon pumps required

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

A Lead Tech is responsible for making room assignments each day

Radiation badge is provided by the agency

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
