Summary: The Director of Nursing is responsible for providing health care for Sister residents in the Holy Family Retirement Residence, the Health Care Center and other Sisters who require health care services short term in the Health Care Center. She develops and implements a quality health care program that meets the needs of each Sister on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis.
The Director of Nursing creates a climate of mutual trust and respect among staff and residents, recognizing the importance of caring relationships in our facility, which is our Sisters’ home. In addition to the overall responsibilities, the Director is a working member of the Nursing Staff and will from time-to-time work “on the floor” on all shifts, in a nursing capacity and perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The Director of Nursing will be a graduate of an accredited RN program, BSN required, and have a current, active license to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky. A minimum of 6 years nursing practice including experience in long-term care and three years’ supervisory and managerial experience is preferred. Respect for the Catholic Faith, commitment to Gospel values, and belief in the mission of the Sisters of Divine Providence is required.
Knowledge and Skills: The Director of Nursing will have knowledge of current nursing and long-term care principles and procedures. Must be informed about new nursing developments, policies, procedures, and methods that relate to geriatric nursing care, and upholds the philosophy of Person-Centered Care. Must be a leader, possess supervisory and management ability, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, other Department Directors of Holy Family Home and the leadership of the Sisters of Divine Providence.
Pay: $73,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
