Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our educational team starting in September, offering six hours of instruction per week. This role provides an exciting opportunity to inspire students through engaging lessons, foster their love for mathematics, and support their academic growth. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, a strong background in math concepts, and experience working with diverse student populations from K through 5th Grade. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction aligned with curriculum standards while utilizing innovative educational technology to enhance learning experiences.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction in foundational building blocks of numerical and spatial reasoning including number sense (counting, place value, operations), fractions, measurement, data handling, and basic geometry
- Incorporate educational technology tools to create interactive lessons and facilitate understanding of complex concepts
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing timely feedback and support
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students from diverse cultural backgrounds and with varying abilities
- Maintain classroom management to foster a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement and behavior management
Skills
- Experience teaching elementary students in a classroom setting with proven classroom management skills
- Proficiency in integrating learning technology into lesson plans and classroom activities
- Ability to adapt instruction based on diverse learning styles and skill levels
- Excellent communication skills with students, and parents
- Familiarity with curriculum implementation standards
