Role Description The After School Robotic/STEM Instructor is a part-time, on-site role based on campuses in Agoura Hills, Westlake Village and Calabasas, CA. Instructors lead small groups of TK–5th grade students through interactive robotics and STEM lessons using VEX robotics equipment, guiding them step-by-step through projects. Daily tasks include setting up classroom activities, delivering instruction, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment. The role involves demonstrating concepts in an age-appropriate way, supporting students as they build and test their projects, and providing positive feedback and encouragement. Instructors also communicate brief updates to site coordinators, follow program schedules and procedures, and complete basic reporting such as attendance and class summaries.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow, and adapt robotics/STEM lesson plans, including basic coding, engineering concepts, and project-based learning.
- Strong classroom management and youth engagement skills, with experience working with TK–5th grade students in group settings.
- Clear, professional communication skills for speaking with students, and program staff, and for giving instructions and feedback.
- Organizational and time-management skills to set up materials, start sessions on time, and maintain a structured class environment.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom that respects diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities.
- Reliability and professionalism, including consistent attendance during after-school hours and adherence to program policies.
- Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth programs is highly beneficial.
- Background or coursework in education, STEM fields, or related disciplines is a plus.
- Ability to meet any required local or school-based onboarding steps, which may include background checks and training in safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
