Duties
- Safely operate various vehicles including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals while managing multiple stops throughout the day.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper heavy lifting techniques, ensuring items are secured for transport.
- Engage with customers professionally, building rapport and addressing their needs with a friendly attitude.
- Upsell additional products or services during deliveries to maximize sales opportunities and improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records in accordance with organizational standards.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, route driving, or automobile transportation. Retail store experience is a plus for understanding customer expectations.
- Strong math skills for accurate pricing calculations, measurements, and basic inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physical stamina is essential.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and traffic laws relevant to commercial truck driving.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage schedules, routes, and delivery documentation efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving or similar roles preferred.
