Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology to provide specialized pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting, supporting the safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment of oncology patients. This role is responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders, collaborating with providers to optimize medication therapy, educating patients and caregivers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Clinical Pharmacist also plays a key role in quality improvement initiatives and supervises pharmacy support personnel to ensure safe medication preparation and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure safe and appropriate drug therapy.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to identify and resolve medication-related concerns.
- Verify the accuracy of medications prepared by pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Serve as a clinical drug information resource for providers, patients, and caregivers.
- Provide patient education on oncology medications and treatment plans.
- Complete medication history documentation and maintain accurate patient records.
- Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.
- Supervise pharmacy support personnel and ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
Experience
- Three to four years of pharmacist experience preferred.
- Hospital-based oncology pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex clinical information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Licensure
- Current license and registration with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts
- Rotating weekend coverage every fourth weekend

Pay: $145,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
