Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a skilled Underground Tech III to join our Team! If you have experience in civil/underground construction and are ready to take on key responsibilities in our operations, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Lead by example, attitude reflects leadership. Lead through the understanding that the employees are the biggest asset Pacific Network Solutions has
- Motivate individuals and Team to create a positive and highly productive work environment
- Operational knowledge with a variety of the newest horizontal directional drills, including Vermeer and Ditch Witch
- Trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main-line and drops
- Perform restoration back to existing conditions
- Must be able to safely coordinate directional drill equipment in and around congested neighborhoods where pedestrians are present
- Ensure utility locates are correct and all underground utilities are identified and located before trenching or digging
- Constantly communicating with crew members
- Ensure potholes are dug and utilities are daylighted prior to crossing utilities
- Maintain accuracy in all reporting functions of directional drill shots
- Assist with safety events and constantly lookout for changing conditions
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order and that all systems are working correctly
- Perform basic upkeep and maintenance of the equipment and communicate any equipment malfunctions or repair needs with the supervisor
- Communicate with fellow team members using hand or audio signals to ensure the safe operation of Pacific Network Solutions equipment
Qualifications:
- Experience with elevated work.
- Ability to move, lift, and hold a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders, bucket trucks, and additional heavy machinery used in commercial construction.
- Familiarity with jurisdictional requirements and 811 markings.
- A clear understanding of DOT regulations.
- Flexibility to work shift work, including maintenance windows and weekends if needed.
- Valid Commercial Drivers License REQUIRED with a clean driving record or minimal points as acceptable by Company's insurance.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, regulations, instruction manuals, blueprints, and specifications.
- Local to the market.
- Good oral and written communication skills with proficiency in English.
- 2+ years of experience in construction and/or telecommunications.
- Has taken OSHA 10 and/or 30 course
- Must have knowledge of other hand and power tools of all types: power brooms, earth tampers, concrete saws, cement mixers, and various other equipment and tools
