Duties
- Prepare, administer, and monitor radiopharmaceuticals for various nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT
- Operate sophisticated imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to strict aseptic techniques
- Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations by performing procedures that require detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Ensure patient safety by explaining procedures clearly and monitoring for adverse reactions during imaging sessions
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, radiopharmaceutical usage, and patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Calibrate and troubleshoot nuclear medicine equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and image quality
- Follow strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or in a similar medical imaging role involving nuclear medicine procedures
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
- Hands-on experience with advanced imaging modalities
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and radiation safety practices in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with medical imaging software systems for capturing and analyzing diagnostic images
- Certification or licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from an accredited body is highly preferred
- Ability to communicate complex procedures clearly to patients and team members while maintaining professionalism
