IT Support Engineer Tier 3
MUST BE LOCAL AND WORK AT OFFICE. We are seeking an on-site IT Support Engineer to work with our IT & Web Development team. The ideal candidate will have an all-around understanding of different IT systems and technologies and will work directly with our Senior Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills, be able to work well with a team, but also work unsupervised to complete tasks, have good time management and communication skills, and be able to juggle several projects simultaneously. You should be able to adapt to new technologies, learn new skills, and provide feedback with relative ease. Must have reliable transportation and be able to provide on-site assistance at our other properties on occasion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and monitor server rooms (on-premises private cloud/hardware) that include Edge, Core and DMZ Firewalls/Routers (Unifi EFG & pfSense), Reverse Proxy Servers (HAProxy), Cache Servers (Varnish), SSL Certs (ACME/Lets Encrypt), IPS/IDS, Linux Distros (Red Hat, Rocky, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.).
- Manage our on-premises/cloud websites and SAAS services such as Office 365 Apps (Outlook/Exchange Online, Power Automate, Planner, etc.) and Zoho Project, Sprints, and Learn.
- Manage our Virtualization Environments running vCenter and Proxmox (ESXi/PVE hypervisors) along with Windows Workstations and Windows/Linux Servers.
- Hardware management of HP Servers, QNAP NAS Drives, Ubiquiti Network Equipment, Hubitat Smart Hubs, Thin Clients, Printers/Scanners, Mobile Devices, 100+ IP Cameras, and various other network and IoT devices.
- Managing email, communication, and automation platforms including Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, and related services).
- VoIP Administration that includes configuring, supporting, and maintaining our on-premises SIP/Unified Communications PBX System, specifically 3CX, configuring hard phones and soft phones as necessary.
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting LAN/WAN, Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS.
- Maintain backups with retention schedules, recovery times, and testing restores.
- Apply OS/software patches and updates, install and update antivirus/anti-malware tools and assist with investigating security incidents and breaches.
- Monitor network infrastructure with various methods using our NOC tool Grafana, check system performance (CPU, RAM, disk, network) and check logs for errors (Event Viewer, Syslog, SIEM tools).
- Monitor multiple locations via SDWAN and traditional VPN tunnels (IPSec).
- Administration of Windows Server environments and services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
- Support user accounts, permissions and access rights in Active Directory and/or Linux environments.
- Provide comprehensive end-user support, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
- Assist staff using on-premises apps such as MS Office, QuickBooks, etc.
- Perform workstation/server setups (rack and stack) and teardowns as needed and maintain proper Systems and Network Documentation.
- Escalation of complex issues to Senior Systems Administrator as needed.
REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, subnets, VLANS, firewalls, and routing. Familiarity with network cabling and port types, including CAT6/7, DAC, SFP, SFP+, QSFP, etc. Familiarity with UPS systems, power cabling and distribution.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues, especially with server hardware.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure concepts (virtualization, storage, backups), and IT terminology.
- Ability to work with both Windows Server, Linux operating systems (RHEL, Debian, Alpine) highly preferred. Familiarity with containerization (i.e. Docker) a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server environment management including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP. Group Policy Objects a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks and projects. Ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to help after hours when needed for emergency/important system disruptions.
- Reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally required to work in server rooms or elsewhere moving physical equipment up to 50 pounds and running cables
EDUCATION:
- High School or equivalent.
- Industry certifications are a plus, but not required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
