Our growing optometry practice is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented student to join our clinical team for a seasonal, part-time position, as an Optometric Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing careers in optometry, medicine, physician assistant studies, nursing, or other health professions to gain meaningful hands-on patient care experience.
Pay: $15–$17 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Part-time, Seasonal
Location: Paoli, PA
What You’ll Do
- Scribe for the doctor during comprehensive eye examinations
- Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories
- Measure and record visual acuity
- Perform or assist with ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including:
- Fundus photography
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Pachymetry
- Prepare patients for examinations and explain testing procedures
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Assist with patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations
- Help maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is
- Currently enrolled in college (preferred), especially in biology, health sciences, pre-med, pre-optometry, nursing, or a related field
- Friendly, professional, and compassionate with patients
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Comfortable using computers and learning new technology
- Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous medical or optometric experience is helpful but not required.
- We are happy to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
