San Luis Coastal Unified School District represents the communities of Avila, Edna Valley, Los Osos, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo and currently has an enrollment of approximately 7,500 students. Small neighborhood schools are a hallmark of the District where students are educated from preschool through twelfth grade and a world-class adult school program offers unique, life-improving courses to thousands of community members.
The San Luis Coastal Unified School District (SLCUSD), covering San Luis Obispo, Los Osos, and Morro Bay, is looking for a full-time Irrigation and Water Resource Specialist. In this assignment, the Irrigation and Water Resource Specialist will perform skilled, journey-level tasks related to irrigation/water distribution, implementation of a centrally controlled computerized irrigation control system; and perform water resource management functions of the District energy/utilities management program. Qualified candidates will possess at least three years combined experience (education/training/work experience) in the installation and repair of irrigation systems and gas, electric, and sewer lines, including management of a computerized irrigation system. Candidates must also possess a valid CA driver's license. PURPOSE: To fill one current vacancy in the Buildings, Grounds & Maintenance department. Start date will be contingent upon successful completion of a livescan/fingerprint clearance,TB clearance, a pre-employment physical, online trainings, onboarding, and presentation of a valid driver's license and I-9 documentation. The Irrigation and Water Resource Specialist position is part of SEIU (Service Employees International Union). Applicants who pass minimum qualification screening will be notified of their eligibility to proceed to a written examination.
