Position Overview
Our neurology clinical research site in Snellville, GA is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support investigational drug services for industry-sponsored neurology clinical trials, including double-blinded and infusion-based studies in myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, CIDP, and other autoimmune neurological conditions.
The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with the Research Pharmacist, Principal Investigator, and study coordinators to ensure proper handling, preparation support, accountability, and documentation of investigational product (IP) in accordance with the protocol, GCP, FDA regulations, Georgia State Board of Pharmacy requirements, and site SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
Investigational Product (IP) Management
- Assist with receipt, storage, temperature monitoring, and accountability of investigational products
- Maintain accurate drug accountability logs and inventory records
- Support blinded study procedures while preserving study integrity
- Assist in preparing investigational products under pharmacist supervision
- Label, package, and document study drug preparation per sponsor requirements
- Coordinate with sponsor monitors during site visits and audits
Infusion & Clinical Support
- Assist with IV investigational medication preparation under pharmacist supervision
- Support clinical staff with infusion setup per protocol
- Ensure compliance with sterile technique and USP standards (as applicable)
- Maintain chain of custody and blinding procedures
Regulatory & Compliance
- Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
- Ensure compliance with FDA, Georgia State Board of Pharmacy, and institutional regulations
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and sponsor review
- Participate in site initiation, monitoring, and close-out visits
Qualifications
Required
- Active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration (Georgia Board of Pharmacy)
- Strong understanding of drug accountability and documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced research environment
Preferred
- National certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Sterile compounding / IV certification
- Clinical research experience (neurology or infusion experience a plus)
- Familiarity with double-blinded trial procedures
- Familiarity with temperature-controlled investigational drug storage
Schedule
- Flexible part-time hourly schedule; hours vary with study visit and infusion volume
