Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners with precision and care.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and using appropriate protective gear.
- Conduct floor care activities including buffing, polishing, stripping, and sealing floors to ensure a polished appearance.
- Assist with custodial maintenance tasks like light repairs, restocking supplies, and ensuring safety protocol adherence throughout the facility.
- Follow safety guidelines during heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and promote safe lifting practices.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to cleaning requests or concerns from staff or clients.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and chemical handling safety procedures is essential for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Experience with facilities maintenance or general upkeep tasks will be advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Previous porter experience or industrial cleaning background can be beneficial for handling diverse cleaning challenges.
