Comunilife Inc. is looking for experienced Community Mental Wellness Specialists for its new OMH program, Project Engage. Under the supervision of the Program Director and Team Leader, the ENGAGE Community Wellness Specialist (CWS) provides community-based outreach, engagement, screening, and linkage to mental health services for individuals experiencing barriers to care. The CWS plays a critical role in increasing access to behavioral health support by conducting tabling events, community outreach, and on-site engagement across Comunilife residences and partner organizations. The employee ensures strength-based, person-centered quality of care provided in a culturally and linguistically meaningful therapeutic environment.These full time positions are eligible to participate in Comunilife's benefits and paid time off package.
This position does require travel thoughout Bronx and Manhattan. It will then expand to Brooklyn and Queens

Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm
Essential Duties:
- Complete required training and obtain certification through the Community Mental Wellness Center at Columbia University in designated evidence-based interventions, including Interpersonal Counseling (IPC), SBIRT/Motivational Interviewing (MI), Safety Planning Intervention, and Financial Wellness Support.
- Fulfill all training requirements to demonstrate competence and actively participate in ongoing clinical supervision and professional development.
- Deliver short-term, structured counseling interventions to eligible clients in alignment with program protocols, and coordinate referrals to higher levels of care when clinically indicated.
- Provide direct coaching, psychoeducation, advocacy, and linkage support to assist clients in accessing community-based services and resources.
- Support client engagement efforts within Comunilife programs and the broader community to promote ENGAGE and service connection.
- Utilize the ENGAGE digital screening application to assess for mental health symptoms, substance use, suicidal ideation, and financial stressors.
- Collaborate with Comunilife programs and community partners to plan and facilitate outreach initiatives and tabling events.
- Conduct field work and outreach in various community-based settings.
- Participate in and complete all required trainings in accordance with OMH regulations andComunilife policies.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of screenings, sessions, referrals, and outreach activities in accordance with program standards and compliance requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support program operations and service delivery.
- Extensive knowledge of case management principles and practices.
- Good initiative and learning ability of OTDA; DHS Program
- Responsible, organized, effective, and efficient. Ability to perform multiple assignments simultaneously.

Education and Experience Requirement(s)
- Associate’s degree in Human Services or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of previous relevant experience in behavioral health or social services setting required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in case management, care coordination, or direct service provision within community-based or social service settings preferred.
- Must complete the New York State Mandated Reporter Training (2-hour course) prior to hire date.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to use business acumen to exercise good judgement and decision-making.
- General knowledge of organization, community and/or social service resources programs.
- Most work is completed in community, with occasional work done in the office as indicated by supervisor.
- Subject to outside environmental conditions while performing tasks associated with job functions.
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion.
- Must be able to multitask with strong organization skills.
