The Role
This is an entry-level position for someone interested in building a career in dental technology, with a particular focus on the finishing and characterization of ceramic dental restorations.
You will receive hands-on training in staining, glazing, surface texture, color, framework finishing, and other crown and bridge production processes. Much of the role involves using small brushes and precision tools to create natural-looking color, contours, and surface details.
While ceramics will be an important part of the position, this is a broader dental technician role. You will also assist with non-ceramic finishing work, general production tasks, and foundational implant processes as your skills develop.
This position may be a strong fit for someone who enjoys detailed, hands-on work and has experience with ceramics, painting, sculpture, model-making, or a similar craft.
No dental laboratory experience is required. We are looking for the right aptitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
What You’ll Do
- Learn ceramic staining, glazing, and surface characterization techniques
- Apply subtle color and texture adjustments to dental restorations
- Prepare restorations for firing in specialized ceramic furnaces
- Finish and polish ceramic and non-ceramic frameworks using precision tools
- Assist with crown and bridge production in a team-based workflow
- Inspect restorations for color, shape, texture, fit, and overall quality
- Complete general finishing and production tasks as needed
- Support foundational implant processes as your skills develop
- Use computers and laboratory software to review case information
- Follow standardized workflows to produce consistent results
- Communicate clearly with team members to keep cases moving efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Strong fine motor skills and hand control
- A good eye for color, shape, texture, and small details
- Experience or interest in ceramics, pottery, painting, sculpture, model-making, or other detailed crafts
- Patience and comfort working with small, precise objects
- Willingness to work with a range of materials and production processes
- Comfort using computers and learning new software tools
- Strong English communication skills
- Reliability and the ability to follow structured processes
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Compensation and Growth
- Annual pay of $40,000 to $65,000
- Starting compensation based on relevant skills and experience
