Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Assist customers with product demos and upselling to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are attractive and accessible
- Conduct regular inventory checks and support stock replenishment to keep the store well-stocked and inviting
- Provide knowledgeable assistance on fruit items and retail products, answering questions clearly and confidently
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders remotely
- Support in-store promotions by engaging customers in product demos and encouraging additional purchases
- Uphold safety standards and cleanliness throughout the store to ensure a safe shopping environment for all
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in a bilingual environment if applicable
- Proven experience with POS systems, cashiering, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings or during busy periods
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stock management, and product placement strategies
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Basic math skills necessary for handling cash transactions accurately and managing retail calculations
