UF Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI) is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Adult Nursing Department. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of supporting our clinical team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with minimally invasive procedures, including the insertion of gold fiducial markers and SpaceOAR gel for prostate cancer patients.
Serve as backup for pediatric anesthesia technicians, supporting anesthesiologists with sedation for young patients during radiation and planning procedures.
Provide clinical support on non-procedure days, including patient check-ins, vital signs collection, room preparation, and inventory management.
Support physicians, APRNs, and RNs with scheduling follow-up visits, placing diagnostic orders in the EMR system, and other administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent; EPIC experience preferred.
- Prior experience in radiation oncology or urology is a plus.
- Comfort working with pediatric patients and familiarity with sterile techniques preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and efficiently.
