Rehab Carolina is hiring a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is vital in creating a smooth patient experience by managing referrals, scheduling, and front-end insurance processes.
Job Summary
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for coordinating incoming referrals, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, scheduling patients efficiently, and supporting clinic operations to ensure excellent patient care and minimal wait times.
Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule incoming patient referrals
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations
- Collect payments and maintain accurate patient records
- Coordinate schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times
- Communicate with patients, therapists, and referring providers
- Support clinic flow, including light cleanup and patient assistance
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficiency with computers and office systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a medical office (2+ years preferred)
- Physical therapy or healthcare background
- Familiarity with anatomical terminology
- Insurance experience (benefits verification, authorizations, copays)
