Toddler Teacher
Ready, Set, Grow Learning Center – South Portland, ME
Ready, Set, Grow Learning Center is seeking a passionate, energetic, and nurturing Toddler Teacher to join our nature-based, child-led learning community. We are looking for educators who believe children learn best through exploration, play, and meaningful experiences in the natural world.
Our teachers spend the majority of each day outdoors, encouraging curiosity, independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. If you love being outside, enjoy getting messy, and are excited to follow children's interests while supporting their development, we'd love to meet you!
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for toddlers.
- Plan and facilitate child-led, play-based learning experiences both indoors and outdoors.
- Spend the majority of each day outside in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and cold temperatures (weather permitting).
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and outdoor learning environment.
- Follow all Maine childcare licensing regulations and center policies.
- Complete daily communication with families and required documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience working with toddlers in an early childhood setting preferred.
- Must have a genuine love for working with young children.
- Enthusiastic about outdoor learning and nature-based education.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and actively participate in outdoor play.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Fingerprint Letter of Eligibility required.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).

Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
