Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manual Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications through comprehensive manual testing processes. Your expertise will help identify issues early, improve user experience, and support the delivery of reliable, high-quality products. Duties
- Develop detailed test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications.
- Execute manual testing across multiple platforms such as Android, iOS, web, and desktop environments to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
- Perform system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and functional testing to ensure software meets quality standards.
- Conduct API testing for RESTful services using tools like Postman or SOAPUI; verify data integrity with SQL and PL/SQL queries on databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira or HP ALM; collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes.
- Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines by executing test automation scripts where applicable using Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber.
- Analyze test results to perform root cause analysis; provide detailed reports on defects and testing progress to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manual software testing with a strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
- Hands-on knowledge of mobile testing on Android and iOS platforms; familiarity with mobile applications’ UI/UX considerations.
- Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs and web services; experience with tools such as Postman or SoapUI is preferred.
- Strong scripting skills in languages like Python or JavaScript for test automation support; familiarity with scripting for debugging purposes.
- Experience working with version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or SVN; understanding of DevOps practices including Jenkins or Azure DevOps is advantageous.
- Ability to perform data analysis using SQL queries on databases like MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server; experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis; strong attention to detail in identifying issues during testing phases.
- Knowledge of UI technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, and web services integration; understanding of system architecture like service-oriented architecture (SOA).
