Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Operator on behalf of a reputable metal fabrication company in the Greater Wilkes-Barre area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled manufacturing professional seeking a stable, full-time position with a four-day workweek and three-day weekends.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating press brake equipment, reading blueprints, setting up tooling, and producing high-quality sheet metal components in a fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake equipment to produce components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and fabrication instructions.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling based on job requirements.
- Perform bending and forming operations while maintaining established tolerances.
- Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product quality.
- Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, protractors, tape measures, and gauges.
- Verify dimensions, bend angles, and finished part specifications.
- Troubleshoot material, tooling, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Complete quality documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Collaborate with production personnel to meet quality standards and production goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous press brake operation experience required.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or metal manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of tooling setup and machine adjustments.
- Experience working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout a 10-hour shift.
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work safely around manufacturing equipment.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to visually inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
