Non Regulated Operations Project Manager

Your role in our success:
The Operations Project Manager for Non-Regulated Operations is responsible for leading high-impact, complex projects that support the strategic objectives, operational efficiency, and service excellence of the non-regulated business units. This individual works directly with the Business Unit Leader to drive organizational change, process improvement, compliance assurance, and cross-functional collaboration. The role requires a highly experienced professional who can collaborate across the organizational structure, influence diverse stakeholders, and deliver tangible results.
What you'll be working on:
- Lead and manage end-to-end execution of a variety of strategic projects, often involving multiple departments, external partners, and significant financial or operational impact.
- Act as a primary liaison and coordinator between various business units, corporate functions, including IT, Finance, Legal, and HR, and external stakeholders to ensure resource coordination and team member alignment. Influence and gain consensus from diverse groups without direct authority. Create successful project outcomes.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of complex business problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative, data-driven solutions. Evaluate potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, other business units, and matrixed vertical functions. Provide regular, clear, and concise updates on project progress, challenges, and successes.
- Identify opportunities for significant process improvements within the business unit and across interconnected functions. Design and implement new processes or optimize existing ones to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- May be responsible for the portfolio of parcels of real property, both leased and owned. Develop a plan for spending capital in accordance with the budget and facility needs. Work with counterparties to negotiate leases and handle other real estate matters.
- Prioritize and organize business unit requests for legal work. Assist Associate General Counsel with understanding various projects. Has autonomy to speed up or slow down work so that the Associate General Counsel has a steady flow of prioritized work from the business unit.
- Work through due diligence materials for potential acquisitions and be responsible for the successful cross-functional integration of purchased businesses.
- May oversee billing activities related to transportation operations by ensuring delivery records align with invoices, contracts, and customer agreements. Coordinate with accounting to support accounts receivable and payable processes, payment application, and billing accuracy improvements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to strategic initiatives and operational excellence. Apply insights to current and future projects.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of reports, tools, and templates used within the business unit to enhance consistency and effectiveness.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and prepare reports as requested by the Business Unit Leader to support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in or lead training sessions related to new processes, systems, or project outcomes as needed.
- Perform any additional related tasks as instructed by management.
Who you are:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred.
- Work Experience: Five years of experience managing full-scale projects, preferably in propane or natural gas.
- Driver’s License: Standard driver’s license.
- Licensure/Certification: Project Management Professional certification preferred.
- Knowledge of natural gas and propane industry rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operations management systems.
- Ability to plan, execute, and close strategic projects.
- Ability to effectively manage timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to assigned business areas or customer sites.
