Laboratory Assistant
We are a large, fast paced family medicine practice located in Rochester Hills, MI. Looking for a part time Clinical Laboratory Assistant to perform a variety of lab duties.
Job Description:
Processes blood samples for laboratory testing.
Enters collections of such specimens in lab information system.
Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into appropriate system(s).
Assists medical technologists in performing designated laboratory tests.
Assists with maintaining laboratory equipment and records following established accreditation guidelines and quality control standards.
Follows defined process in obtaining samples including verifying patient information, labeling specimen vials, and matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Disposes of contaminated needles in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
Previous experience or related courses.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 /hour
