Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Buffer Preparation Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing buffer solutions used in production processes. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all preparations in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulatory standards such as ISO regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our laboratory operations within a fast-paced biomedical environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and standardize buffer solutions following established laboratory procedures and protocols for multiple departments.
- Maintain meticulous records of all buffer preparations, including lot numbers, concentrations, and preparation steps.
- Communicates and coordinates with other departments production schedules, to fill buffer requests in an efficient and timely manner.
- Calibrates pH/conductivity meters and scales. Checks chemical inventory and determines needs for upcoming projects.
- Fulfills requests and creates documentation for new buffers.
- Maintains buffer preparation equipment. Maintains safe and clean chemical storage and buffer preparation areas.
- Provides assistance to other employees as assigned; centrifuging, bottling sera, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific discipline such as biology or chemistry; relevant industrial laboratory experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures including analysis skills.
- Familiarity with GLP, CGMP, ISO regulations, and quality control processes within a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed protocols accurately while maintaining high levels of precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent math skills for precise measurements and calculations involved in buffer preparation.
- Proven research or scientific laboratory experience supporting research & development initiatives is desirable.
