Position Summary
Alpha Integrated Solutions (AIS) is seeking an experienced Electronic Security Systems Technician to join our growing team. This is not an entry-level low-voltage position—we are looking for professionals with hands-on experience installing, programming, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting enterprise security systems.
As an AIS Technician, you will deploy integrated physical security solutions including enterprise video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, networking, AI-powered analytics, intercom systems, and cloud-connected security technologies. You will work alongside project managers, sales engineers, and customers to deliver high-quality installations that exceed industry standards.
Our projects range from commercial office buildings and K-12 schools to healthcare, critical infrastructure, municipalities, campuses, industrial facilities, and enterprise clients throughout California and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, commission, and service commercial electronic security systems.
- Install and program enterprise Video Management Systems (VMS).
- Install and configure IP cameras, PTZ cameras, thermal cameras, panoramic cameras, NVRs, servers, storage appliances, and edge devices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise Access Control Systems including readers, controllers, locks, request-to-exit devices, electrified hardware, and door position switches.
- Install and service commercial intrusion detection systems.
- Perform cable installation including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, composite cable, reader cable, and low-voltage power wiring.
- Install and terminate fiber optic cabling, including fusion splicing (preferred).
- Configure managed and unmanaged network switches, VLANs, PoE, and IP addressing.
- Install server racks, UPS systems, patch panels, and network equipment.
- Commission systems and perform customer acceptance testing.
- Perform preventive maintenance and service calls while documenting findings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and construction documents.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, electricians, IT departments, and customers.
- Maintain accurate documentation including redlines, as-built drawings, daily reports, commissioning reports, and service documentation.
- Train customers on system operation and best practices.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.

Required Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of commercial electronic security installation experience.
- Experience installing enterprise IP-based security systems.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Experience configuring switches, PoE, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience terminating Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling.
- Ability to read construction plans and electrical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, operate lifts, and work in construction environments.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Certifications
Candidates holding one or more of the following certifications are highly desirable:
- OSHA 10 Construction (minimum preferred)
- OSHA 30 Construction (highly preferred)
- Lift Certification
- Fall Protection Certification
- Manufacturer Certifications (Axis, Genetec, Milestone, Hanwha, Avigilon, LenelS2, Genetec Synergis, Brivo, Openpath, Bosch, etc.)
- Fiber Optic Termination Certification
- BICSI Installer or Technician Certification

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
