Job Description:
6 Star Management is seeking a skilled, reliable, and service-oriented Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations across multiple 6 Star Properties throughout the San Fernando Valley, California. This position is responsible for traveling between assigned communities to complete repairs, support unit turns, assist with preventive maintenance, and help ensure each property is maintained to a high standard. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and responsive, with the ability to manage changing priorities while delivering quality work across multiple sites. This role requires independence, accountability, and consistency, as the Maintenance Technician will serve as a key maintenance resource across multiple communities. The successful candidate must also represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and a strong service mindset while working with residents, onsite teams, vendors, and leadership across different locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Complete service requests, work orders, and general maintenance tasks in a timely, thorough, and professional manner across multiple properties
· Travel between assigned 6 Star Properties throughout the San Fernando Valley based on business needs and operational priorities
· Use AppFolio to review, manage, and document work orders with accurate notes and photos
· Assist with unit turns to ensure vacant apartments are rent-ready for incoming residents
· Perform general maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, HVAC, appliances, locks, caulking, window coverings, vinyl, and basic carpentry
· Support preventive maintenance efforts to help reduce equipment failures and preserve property condition
· Inspect common areas, grounds, vacant units, model units, and building exteriors, and report maintenance concerns to the appropriate manager
· Assist with special projects, repair planning, and other maintenance initiatives as assigned
· Coordinate with onsite staff, vendors, and service providers to support property operations
· Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, shops, storage rooms, tools, and equipment
· Monitor supply levels and communicate inventory needs as appropriate
· Complete required records, including timesheets, maintenance logs, checklists, and mileage documentation
· Participate in on-call emergency maintenance service as required
· Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach in all interactions with residents, coworkers, vendors, and the public
Key Qualifications:
· Strong knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, appliance repair, HVAC, lock repair, caulking, and basic carpentry
· Ability to diagnose maintenance issues, complete repairs efficiently, and follow through on assignments with quality and accuracy
· Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage priorities across multiple properties
· Experience with preventive maintenance programs and property inspections preferred
· Ability to use AppFolio or similar property management software to manage work orders and document completed work
· Strong customer service skills and ability to work professionally with residents, coworkers, vendors, and management
· Knowledge of safe work practices and proper use of maintenance tools, materials, equipment, and vehicles
· Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and a hands-on approach to daily responsibilities
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, walking properties, and standing for extended periods
· Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required
· Must be comfortable traveling regularly between multiple properties throughout the San Fernando Valley
· Must be available for on-call service as needed to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies
Additional Requirements (Education, Training, and Experience):
· High school diploma or GED required
· Prior maintenance experience in an apartment community, residential property, or similar environment preferred
Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour
