Job Duties:

Ensure cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the buildings on site such as cabins, group camps, lodges, bathhouses, meeting rooms, etc. Duties would include but not limited to, disinfecting, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, mopping, sweeping, dusting, etc.

Perform any and all custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions.

Removes trash and prepares dirty laundry for pickup.

Stock buildings with cleaning and household supplies such as soap, toilet paper, sanitary supplies, paper towels, etc.

Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies

Cleans & picks up litter/trash from bathhouses, campground areas, and day use areas.

Assists with minor building maintenance such as air filters, light bulbs, etc.

Assist with grounds maintenance such as mowing, blowing, trail maintenance, etc. as needed.

Assists customers with questions and concerns.

Provide park and local community information to customers.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, LA
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotion, or Detail to Special Duty
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. Please refer to the "Class Specifications" page for specific information of salary ranges, minimum qualifications and job concepts for each level.
Work Schedule:State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Travel: Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. Travel may be required to other state parks to assist in staffing or events, as needed. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
Compensation: Compensation offered will be dependent on level of experience and certification, so please be sure to include all education and work experience for consideration.
