Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter to join our pipe fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have experience using AutoCAD to create fabrication drawings, is comfortable working in an industrial environment, and can collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise fabrication drawings, spool drawings, isometrics, and shop layouts using AutoCAD
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Prepare detailed drawings for pipe fabrication and production teams
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and shop personnel to resolve drawing issues
- Maintain drawing revisions and document control
- Assist with material take-offs and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards and applicable codes/specifications
- Support production scheduling and fabrication workflows as needed
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience required
- Experience in pipe fabrication, mechanical drafting, industrial construction, or manufacturing preferred
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and fabrication documents
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with pipe spool drawings and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of ASME piping standards and industrial piping systems
- Familiarity with 3D drafting/modeling software is a plus
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
