We are looking for a freelance beauty content specialist to support a growing makeup brand through engaging, trend-focused content across TikTok and Instagram.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about beauty, social media marketing, and content creation, and enjoys turning products into educational, inspiring, and purchase-driven social media content.
This is a great opportunity for a part-time or full-time student studying marketing, social media, communications, beauty, or a related field who is looking to gain hands-on industry experience while building their portfolio. It is also a great fit for a creative freelancer who enjoys working independently and creating content in the beauty space.
The role will begin with scheduled in-office content days to provide hands-on training, brand education, and collaboration with the team. As familiarity with the brand, products, content expectations, and responsibilities grows, there may be opportunities for a more flexible schedule, including the ability to complete certain projects remotely.
This is a flexible freelance opportunity. Hours are not fixed; instead, content needs, filming days, and collaboration times will be planned around project priorities and freelancer availability.
Responsibilities
- Create short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram Reels
- Create supporting Instagram content including product photography, flat lays, lifestyle images, and promotional visuals
- Develop creative concepts based on beauty trends, launches, and marketing goals
- Film and edit polished beauty content using your own creative process.
- Demonstrate makeup application techniques and product usage on camera
- Create content that educates customers while driving product interest and sales
- Adapt content across multiple platforms
- Participate in collaborative filming days with the brand team and other creators when needed
- Organize and batch-create multiple content concepts during scheduled filming sessions
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone with strong makeup knowledge and the ability to create professional-looking beauty content.
Ideal candidates should have experience with:
- Makeup application techniques (intermediate to advanced level)
- Creating polished makeup looks for video
- Eye makeup, including eyeliner techniques
- Lip combinations and shade pairing
- Mascara application
- Foundation application and blending
- Understanding of color theory, undertones, and shade matching is a plus
- Ability to explain beauty products in an engaging and approachable way
Experience creating beauty content is preferred, but a large personal following is not required. We are looking for creativity, skill, and the ability to create content that connects with customers.
Equipment & Content Creation Setup
Freelancers should have access to:
- A smartphone capable of recording high-quality video content
- Basic ability to edit and organize content using their preferred tools (mobile editing apps or computer-based software are both acceptable)
The brand provides a dedicated content studio space, beauty products, creative direction, brand assets, filming resources, lighting, tripods, and select props to support content creation.
Freelancers are welcome to bring any personal equipment or tools they prefer to use, such as additional lighting, tripods, cameras, or editing devices, if these help enhance their creative process and workflow. Any additional equipment needs can also be discussed based on specific content projects.
