Pet's Friend Animal Clinic is a busy, 7-doctor AAHA-accredited hospital looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys being hands-on, learning new skills, and working alongside a supportive team.
We're looking for someone who already has solid veterinary experience and wants to continue growing. If you enjoy surgery, hospitalized patients, appointments, and the variety that comes with a busy general practice, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
No two days are the same. You'll work alongside our doctors and technicians providing excellent patient care by:
- Assisting doctors during appointments and procedures
- Preparing patients for surgery and monitoring recovery
- Placing IV catheters (where permitted by experience and hospital policy)
- Collecting laboratory samples and running in-house diagnostics
- Administering medications and treatments
- Taking radiographs
- Assisting with anesthesia and patient monitoring
- Caring for hospitalized patients
- Helping with urgent care cases
- Keeping treatment and surgical areas clean, organized, and ready for the next patient
- Supporting teammates wherever help is needed
What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years of veterinary assistant experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital
- Strong patient handling and restraint skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Surgical and anesthesia experience is a plus
- RVT students and experienced assistants are encouraged to apply
