Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Loader/Unloader to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading goods, ensuring safe handling of materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate various heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks. This position plays a vital role in supporting smooth shipping and receiving processes, contributing to overall operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and clamp trucks
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing goods to verify accuracy and condition
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for precise order picking and inventory tracking
- Assist with order picking tasks, ensuring correct items are selected according to shipping documents
- Handle materials with care during heavy lifting operations while adhering to OSHA safety standards
- Support shipping and receiving activities by organizing stock in designated areas and preparing items for dispatch
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and mechanical tools proficiently for efficient material handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and workflow processes
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker technology
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse machinery is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards for warehouse operations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on a regular basis
- Prior experience in construction or materials handling environments is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
