The Parks and Recreation division is seeking a motivated Recreation Operations Supervisor to support daily operations with a focus on membership services and front desk operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position assists with oversight of front desk staff and plays a key role in delivering a high-quality customer experience at the Moraine Recreation Center and Moraine Civic Center.
This role supports daily operations including staff scheduling, training, and performance support, while ensuring accurate membership processing, strong customer service, and smooth front desk operations.
This position requires consistent availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This position is expected to work 25–29 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with supervising, scheduling, and training front desk staff

Support daily front desk operations and customer service standards

Oversee membership sales, renewals, and account management

Handle cash transactions, reconcile drawers, and ensure strict adherence to cash handling procedures

Respond to and resolve customer concerns independently while maintaining high customer service standards

Conduct facility tours and assist with member onboarding

Maintain membership records, reports, and retention tracking

Support programs, events, and general facility operations

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience in customer service, recreation, or front desk operations

Demonstrated experience handling cash, balancing drawers, and following cash control procedures

Experience working with a diverse clientele base strongly preferred

Comfortable managing high-volume interactions and financial transactions

Summary and Purpose
This position ensures a safe and effective community recreation environment by supervising the part-time Front Desk staff and Operations staff at the Recreation Center and the Civic Center which includes scheduling staff, scheduling of facilities and recruiting and training of part time and seasonal staff.
Requirements and Qualifications
Graduation from high school or GED, with one or more years of recreation experience, customer service, recreation soft ware and cash handling experience preferred.
Must comply with all City rules and regulations (PPM). All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings.
First Aid and CPR certifications preferred or must be obtained immediately after hire.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and public.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Maintain good physical condition in order to work outdoors under various weather conditions, as well as indoors. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, or sit. To use their hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and operate equipment or controls. He or she may also have to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift medium weight items, 50 pounds or less, such as equipment or other material.
Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Corrective lenses may be worn to aid in specific vision requirements.
Requires normal hearing abilities.
Possess current Ohio state driver’s license.
Must be of good moral character with no disqualifying criminal history.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Schedule and train of the MPR Front Desk staff.
2. Implementation of the City’s Cash Handling Policies.
3. Monitor the Front Desk Areas and opening/closing of the facility, when needed.
4. Enforce facility rules in a fair and consistent manner.
5. Address participant complaints and when needed relay or direct concerns to the Operations Manager.
6. Conduct orientation tours of recreation facilities to relay all pertinent department information to interested persons and new members of recreation facilities.
7. Understand City recreation policies, regulations and procedures in order to explain to co-workers and ensure compliance with stated City and division guidance.
8. Respond to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings.
9. Preparation for publication a variety of brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers and related communications regarding recreation programs
10. Coordinate, schedule and maintain reports related to membership retention, services, rentals, and business of the month program.

12. Maintain current CPR and first aid certifications.
13. Maintain clean and neat appearance. Uniforms shall be worn at all times. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum.
14. Maintain regular and timely attendance - dressed and ready for work at scheduled time.
15. Perform administrative functions using the computer.
16. Drive City vehicles.
17. Perform other duties as required.
