Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, bed making, bathroom sanitation, and floor care using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and inviting for guests.
- Handle cleaning supplies and chemical agents safely by following proper procedures outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hotel safety protocols.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of furniture or supplies while adhering to safety guidelines to prevent injury.
- Utilize industrial cleaning equipment effectively to ensure high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are met consistently.
- Follow hotel housekeeping management procedures to document completed tasks, report maintenance issues, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to guest requests or concerns related to cleanliness or room amenities with excellent customer service skills.
- Adhere to hotel emergency procedures when necessary to ensure guest safety at all times.
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a hospitality or industrial cleaning environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of floor cleaning techniques including floor care and sanitation practices.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely while performing cleaning tasks.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely during routine duties.
- Strong understanding of hotel housekeeping management processes and standards for maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to guest needs in a hospitality setting.
