POSTION SUMMARY
The Clinical Applications Coordinator supports the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the electronic health record (EHR), specifically Oracle Health (Cerner). This role serves as a key liaison between clinical staff and IT, ensuring the EHR supports efficient, safe, and effective patient care.
Responsibilities include system configuration, workflow optimization, troubleshooting, and end-user training. This position works closely with clinical departments to implement new functionality and improve existing processes. Participation in an on-call rotation is required. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Informatics.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and maintain the Oracle Health (Cerner) EHR system
- Configure applications, workflows, and system settings to meet clinical needs
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with IT and vendors
- Develop and deliver EHR training for clinical and support staff
- Assist with implementation of new software, upgrades, and enhancements
- Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, IT, and external partners
- Monitor system performance and recommend process improvements
- Promote data accuracy, integrity, and security across clinical systems
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams as an EHR subject matter expert
- Document issues, solutions, and workflows; escalate complex issues as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
