We are seeking reliable and motivated Powder Coaters with previous experience to operate powder coating equipment and ensure high-quality production standards. This hands-on role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate powder coating equipment and powder guns
- Follow procedures to ensure consistent coating quality
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Support quality control and report any issues
Core Coating Skills
- Proper Gun Technique – Maintains correct distance, angle, and movement for even coverage and film build.
- Consistent Film Thickness – Applies powder evenly to meet specified microns or mils without over- or under-coating.
- Surface Preparation – Verifies parts are clean, dry, and pre-treated (e.g., blasted or washed) for optimal coating results.
- Defect Recognition – Identifies and corrects issues like orange peel, fisheyes, pinholes, or poor coverage.
- Touch-Up Skills – Able to blend or recoat small areas without compromising finish quality.
Qualifications
- Previous powder coating experience required
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to multitask and follow directions
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly
- Stand, walk, and bend for the entire shift
- Occasionally lift up to 60 lbs
