Responsibilities
- Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, power tools, and irrigation systems to ensure pristine outdoor areas.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, and mulching to enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper horticultural care and health.
- Manage irrigation systems for efficient watering and troubleshoot issues related to irrigation or drainage.
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers following safety protocols to protect plants from pests and promote healthy growth.
- Maintain hardscape features such as walkways, patios, and retaining walls by cleaning and minor repairs.
- Follow safety procedures diligently during outdoor work to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment.
- Remove debris and maintain a clean, organized job site.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use equipment properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for operating power tools, lawn equipment, and grounds maintenance machinery effectively.
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, tree care, and grounds upkeep.
- Experience in parking lot striping, landscaping, or general construction is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable transportation to the job site.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and edgers.
- Ability to identify plants accurately and understand basic horticulture principles.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Strong outdoor work experience with an emphasis on safety protocol adherence.
